When I first started my websites I hated comments because that meant I had to approve them and weed out the spam but now that I understand more about commenting and why it is so important I try to get the most comments out of each post as I possibly can.

Why are blog comments so important.

Blog comments are so important because the more content you have on each page the better as far as SEO goes. And also the more blog comments that are on each post makes the search engines, especially Google think your post is really important, which again will increase your on-page SEO.

How can I get more comments on my website?

1. Write better posts – This may seem pointless because you already try to write the best post you can on your website but that is not enough. If you aren’t giving all the details you can on each post then people will start to see that and not want to read your post anymore and not even think about leaving a comment.

2. Ask question – This is something I learned to do a long time ago, but always stayed away from doing it, but it really works. In my posts I will often times ask a few questions throughout it to see if I can get some kind of reaction out op people, and most of the time depending on what the post is about it works.

3. Controversial pictures – I know you have heard the saying, “A picture is work a thousand words”, right? Well it can be, I once put up a picture on one of my sites that was a little controversial and it got over 100 comments because of it. So try this if asking a question doesn’t work.

4. Ask for comments – This is not really a tip, but most people don’t think of this. I used to think that asking my readers to do something was stupid because they would never do it, but I was wrong. If you are a trusted blogger and the readers like what you have to say they will do what you ask them to do as long as it doesn’t take a lot of time or money.

5. Give a gift – I have only done this a few times and each time it works. I always give away a free ebook that I wrote and am about to release but for people who comment on certain blog posts I will send each one of them a copy of my ebook early before anyone else can get their hands on

it.

If you can do at least one of these methods to get more comments you will be better off then you are right now. More and more comments just means that you will earn money quickly from a simple yet strategic blog post.
